Scholarship Overview
The Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 to honor the legacy of Tanzania’s founding father. The fund supports academically outstanding Tanzanians to pursue higher education in science, mathematics, economics, IT, accounting, and finance. It aims to promote excellence in these fields and foster national development.
Scholarship Categories
1. Undergraduate – Category A (Science & Mathematics, Female Only)
Female Tanzanian citizens
Completed ACSEE in 2025 with Division One in Science or Mathematics subjects
Admitted/applied to a full-time bachelor’s program in Science or Mathematics at an accredited Tanzanian university
2. Undergraduate – Category B (Science, Mathematics, IT, Economics, Accounting, Finance – Male & Female)
Male or female Tanzanian citizens
Completed ACSEE in 2025 with Division One in Science, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, or Accounting
Admitted/applied to a full-time bachelor’s program in the listed fields at an accredited Tanzanian university
3. Master’s Degree Programmes
Male or female Tanzanian citizens, ≤ 35 years old
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with First Class or Upper Second Class (minimum GPA 4.0) from a Tanzanian accredited university
Admitted/applied to a full-time master’s program in the listed fields at an accredited Tanzanian university

The scholarship is fully funded and covers:
