-The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at the University of Cambridge is now open for applications for the 2026/2027 academic year. This fully funded initiative supports talented young Africans with demonstrated academic and leadership potential to pursue a full-time master’s degree at one of the world’s top universities.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
1. Hold a bachelor’s degree.
2. Meet the academic requirements of the chosen course. Some programs require the equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree; others may require an upper second-class degree. Check entry requirements here.
3. Be from and currently living in an African country. Applicants temporarily living outside Africa for study or work are still eligible.
4. Apply for an eligible course – All full-time master’s programs are eligible except:
Master of Accountancy (MACC)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Master of Corporate Law (MCL)
Master of Finance (MFIN)
5. Demonstrate a strong commitment to giving back to your community, country, or the continent, particularly in areas related to sustainability and climate resilience.

> Note: Due to UK Home Office regulations (effective January 2024), spouses and children of students enrolled in one-year taught master’s programs are not eligible for dependant visas.
