Quality Education Development Associates (QEDA), in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Unveiling Africa, and SEED Care & Support Foundation, invites applications for the Youth Vanguards for Education (YVE) Fellowship Program 2026.
This initiative is designed to empower young Nigerians to drive meaningful reform in the education sector through advocacy, innovation, and leadership development.
About the Fellowship
Education remains a critical pillar for human capital development in Nigeria. However, learning outcomes remain low, with a significant percentage of children experiencing learning poverty. The YVE Fellowship seeks to bridge this gap by equipping young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to advocate for impactful education reform.
The fellowship is a 6-month program that provides participants with hands-on experience, mentorship, and practical exposure to education development initiatives.
Programme Structure
Phase 1: Virtual Training (2 Months)
Participants will undergo intensive online training covering:
Leadership and soft skills development
Education advocacy and policy engagement
Early Grade Reading
School safeguarding
Climate education
Africanization and development perspectives
Phase 2: School Immersion & Project Implementation
Placement in schools for practical experience
Execution of a personal or group education-focused project
Collaboration with mentors and fellow fellows
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:Study Grants & Scholarships
Be Nigerian youths aged 18 – 32 years
Hold a minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification
Demonstrate strong interest in education reform and advocacy
Be available to participate in all program activities (minimum of 6 hours of online sessions weekly and full-term school immersion)
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Show commitment to leadership and professional development
