Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Prof. Emmanuel Kenen as the Acting Vice Chancellor of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi.
The appointment, announced in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, was posted on the state government’s official X handle on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the appointment followed the recommendation of the university’s Governing Council and will last for six months in line with the law establishing the institution.
Governor Alia congratulated Prof. Kenen and urged him to uphold the university’s values of excellence, discipline, innovation, and moral integrity.
He said the university must remain a centre of knowledge and character building, producing graduates who will drive development in Benue and across Nigeria.
Reaffirming his commitment to quality education, the governor pledged to continue improving infrastructure, staff welfare, and research in state-owned institutions.
Established in 1991 as Benue State University, the institution was renamed in honour of the late Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu, former governor of Benue State (1992–1993), who founded the university.
