The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has firmly denied reports suggesting he plans to resign from office to contest the Lagos State governorship.
Responding to growing political speculation, Alausa stated that he remains fully committed to his duties at the Federal Ministry of Education and has no intention of stepping down.
He emphasized that his focus is on advancing reforms in the education sector and delivering on the mandate entrusted to him.
The clarification comes amid heightened political conversations ahead of upcoming elections, with several prominent figures being linked to potential governorship bids in Lagos State.
Alausa’s statement appears aimed at putting the rumours to rest, reaffirming that his priority is strengthening Nigeria’s education system rather than pursuing elective office.
