The Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Olalekan Asikhia, has leveraged a different way to tackle examination malpractice as he launched a new feature film titled “The Gracious Couple”.
The launched film stands as a part of his campaign against examination malpractice, which he described as a “silent epidemic” rotting off quality education, professional integrity, and national development.
This was released in a statement released on Tuesday by Olawale Adekoya, Caleb University’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist.
“Examination malpractice devalues hard work and rewards deceit. It creates the illusion of success but leaves behind a devastating reality: graduates who brandish certificates of competence but lack the substance, knowledge, and discipline required to serve,” the VC said
He added, “When a medical student cheats, the consequence may be a fatal misdiagnosis. When a law student cheats, the result may be a quack lawyer incapable of defending justice. When teachers cheat, they reproduce ignorance. When leaders cheat, the nation collapses.”
“This is not only a crime against the government and society but a sin against the Lord.”
The film featured gospel artistes and other creatives. It tells the story of Mrs. Tope Henry, a Vice Principal, who wages war against corruption at the detriment of her career.
“The movie is a strategic intervention. It provides a robust solution rooted in faith, courage, and systemic change.
Every parent, every student, every teacher, every leader, and indeed every nation, must take this battle seriously,” Asikhia said.
The VC warned against the aftermath of examination malpractice citing that graduates, professionals, and the country will be at the receiving end.
“Examination malpractice is a disease worse than cancer. Its fruits are evident: half-baked graduates, fraudulent professionals, broken systems, and destroyed nations. We must all shun it at every level.” He stated.
The university’s media specialist, Olalekan Adekoya remarked: “Caleb University is proud and blessed to have Professor Olalekan Asikhia as Vice Chancellor. His brilliance inspires innovation, integrity, and holistic student development.”
