Reports from Downdetector, a platform that monitors online service outages, indicated the issue began around 7 a.m. ET and affected users worldwide. The error typically signifies a server communication failure where one server receives an invalid response from another.
Frustrated users took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions.
One user, #raghhavvvv, wrote, “ChatGPT down in the middle of the workday. I’m about to get fired. Pray for me.”
Another user, #Shivam_Verma_98, quipped, “ChatGPT is down and I’m forced to use my brain again.”
