Death might take a person, but it never really kills their actions or the ripple effects they leave behind.
That’s exactly the case with Raji Samad Adetola, better known as Comedian Zanku, who sadly lost his life in a car accident on September 2, 2025. He was laid to rest shortly after, but the drama surrounding his story is far from over.
Just when people thought the dust had settled, new conversations popped up online — all centered around the car he was driving before the crash.

The Car Behind the Controversy 🚘
Turns out, the Lexus RX 350 SUV (2012 model) that Zanku crashed wasn’t fully his. Reports say he got the ride on loan from a dealer in Ilorin. He had paid ₦7 million upfront to JJ Empire and Services Ltd on June 5, with plans to complete the rest in installments.
On June 6, Zanku even flexed the whip on TikTok with the caption:
“Alhamdulilah for life, congratulations Adetola.”
He tagged content creator Folorunsho Adeyinka a.k.a. Finest, who was his guarantor in the deal.
Finest Speaks Out 🎤
Finest later cleared the air on TikTok Live:
He wasn’t the car dealer, just the guarantor.
Zanku agreed to buy the car for ₦25.4 million and had already paid about ₦12.28 million in total before the crash.
He even shared receipts and voice notes showing that Zanku appreciated him for helping.
Finest added that he also sent money through his siblings to support when the accident happened.
What Friends Are Saying 🤐
One of Zanku’s close friends (who didn’t want to be named) spilled more tea: Zanku was under pressure to return the Lexus because he was struggling to complete payment. The plan? Swap it for a Nigerian-used Toyota Venza, since he still owed ₦2.3 million on the Lexus.
The Internet Reacts 🌍
As expected, social media has been buzzing with mixed reactions. Some people are blaming poor financial decisions, while others say it’s a sad reminder to “cut your coat according to your size.”
Either way, Comedian Zanku’s story shows how fast life — and online drama — can switch lanes.
