Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has received an additional ₦91,806,278 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to cover the 2024/2025 academic session tuition fees for 516 students.
This second batch of financial support follows an initial disbursement of ₦40,712,720, bringing the total amount received by the university to ₦132,518,998, excluding upkeep allowances.
The initiative, introduced by the Federal Government, aims to ease the financial burden on students and ensure uninterrupted academic pursuits. Beneficiaries of the program will not only have their tuition fees fully covered but will also receive a monthly stipend of ₦20,000 until they graduate.
Speaking on the development, the university management, led by Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for the continuous support.
The management reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that COOU students are not left out of such life-changing initiatives.
Students who wish to benefit from the NELFUND program are advised to apply through the official portal at **Portal.nelf.gov.ng** and complete their registration before the school fees deadline.
