The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Taiwo Amos, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE), the highest honour awarded by the Association to distinguished professionals in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the advancement of Agricultural Economics in Nigeria.
The Fellowship was formally conferred during the Annual National Conference of the Association held on 14th October, 2025 at NAAE 25th Annual Conference at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State which brought together experts, policymakers, and academics to deliberate on key issues affecting Nigeria’s agricultural and economic landscape.
In the citation that accompanied the honour, the Association commended Professor Amos for his outstanding scholarship, impactful research, and unwavering commitment to capacity development, all of which have significantly shaped the discipline of Agricultural Economics and contributed to national growth. The NAAE also acknowledged his distinguished service in academia and leadership, particularly his role in mentoring young scholars and advancing agricultural policy and development through evidence-based research.
Reacting to the honour, Professor Amos expressed deep appreciation to the Association for the recognition, dedicating the award to God, the University Management, his colleagues, and students, whose support and collaboration have spurred his professional journey. He reaffirmed his commitment to continuous research, innovation, and mentorship aimed at promoting food security and sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria.
