The Federal Ministry of Education has mandated all federal tertiary institutions across the country to publicly advertise all job vacancies moving forward.
This directive was disclosed in an official statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade. According to the ministry, the move is aimed at promoting transparency, fairness, and open competition in the recruitment processes of federal institutions.
To ensure equal access for qualified Nigerians, institutions have been instructed to advertise available positions in at least one national daily newspaper, on their official websites, and in other relevant academic or professional journals.
“The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has directed all Federal Tertiary Institutions granted waivers for recruitment to publicly advertise their vacancies,” the statement read.
This policy is a follow-up to recruitment waivers previously granted based on manpower requirements submitted by various institutions to the ministry.
The statement emphasized that all institutions must submit their recruitment plans to the Committee on Waiver and Recruitment for prior approval. It warned that any institution that fails to comply will face disciplinary measures.
“The Ministry has established monitoring mechanisms to ensure strict adherence and will not hesitate to sanction any institution that violates this directive,” the statement concluded.
