When checking your WAEC result, you might come across certain terms. Here’s what they mean:
1. OUTSTANDING :
This means your result in one or more subjects is still being processed. It usually happens when a student is marked present but the marks are not yet finalized. This could be due to an extra answer sheet not properly attached or other technical issues.
Chances of release:Very high
2.WITHHELD :
This occurs when many students from a centre have similar answers, suggesting malpractice. WAEC investigates the situation. If malpractice is confirmed, the results are seized.
Chances of release: Slim.
3.HELD:
Similar to “Withheld,” but usually tied to a specific candidate or when a centre is strongly indicted for malpractice. This can include written remarks in your answer booklet.
If cleared after investigation, your result may be released.
If it turns to “Cancelled,” it’s over.
4.RESULT NOT AVAILABLE :
This may be due to:
• Delay in uploading results
• Wrong exam type or year selected during checking.
Check back later or retry with correct details.
5. INDEBTED:
Your school may owe WAEC fees or materials. When this happens, results for the entire school might be withheld until the debt is cleared.
📞 Contact your school for assistance.
6.CANCELLED:
This means WAEC has confirmed malpractice or a major exam offense.
The result will not be released. There’s no going back.
