For many HND holders looking to level up their qualifications, the journey to a Bachelor’s degree just moved a step forward at Lagos State University (LASU).
On Saturday, January 31, 2026, LASU conducted the entrance examination for applicants seeking admission into its 2024/2025 HND/BSc Conversion Top-Up Degree Programme, organised through the School of Part-Time Studies (SPTS).
The examination took place at the 3-in-1 Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Education, LASU main campus in Ojo, drawing candidates from different parts of the country.
Speaking to applicants, the Director of SPTS, Prof. Oluwatobi Pemede, explained that the conversion programme was designed to bridge the long-standing gap between HND qualifications and Bachelor’s degrees.
According to him, the programme offers professionals and graduates a chance to strengthen their academic profile and improve their career prospects without starting all over.
“The examination is part of a transparent, merit-based process that reflects LASU’s academic standards,” Pemede said, adding that the university remains committed to providing equal academic opportunities for qualified candidates.
Also speaking, the Assistant Director of SPTS, Dr Oluwaseun Babalola, expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the exercise, noting that it reflects LASU’s growing reputation for offering alternative academic pathways.
He described the HND/BSc Conversion Programme as one of the university’s flagship part-time initiatives, attracting applicants nationwide who are determined to upgrade their qualifications.
Applicants have been advised to regularly check the official LASU website for updates on the admission list. Successful candidates will be required to pay the prescribed acceptance and medical fees to secure their provisional admission.
For many candidates, the exam represents more than a test — it is a reminder that academic progression doesn’t end with an HND, and that pathways still exist for those ready to take the next step.
At LASU, the message is clear: the door to growth remains open.
