The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially started generating profile codes for candidates intending to sit for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Here is a clear breakdown of what candidates need to know:
What Is a JAMB Profile Code?
A profile code is a unique 10-digit number issued by JAMB. It is mandatory for UTME registration, as it links your National Identification Number (NIN) to your JAMB profile.
How to Generate Your 2026 JAMB Profile Code
Follow these simple steps:
1. Using a mobile phone registered in your own name, send an SMS.
2. Type your 11-digit NIN (no spaces or extra words).
3. Send the SMS to 55019 or 66019.
Example: 11233322442
4. Within a short time, JAMB will send your profile code to the same phone number.
Important Things to Note
The phone number used must be active and linked to your NIN.
Each phone number can only be used for one candidate.
SMS charges may apply.
Keep your profile code safe, as it will be required throughout the UTME registration process.
