President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate employment of 200 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) honorees into the federal civil service, alongside a suite of other major awards and incentives .
The directive was issued during the combined President’s NYSC Honours Award Ceremony for service years 2020–2023, held in Abuja. The youth were selected in recognition of their exceptional patriotism, discipline, and public service .
Immediate Employment & Cash Awards
Each of the 200 honorees is set to receive a ₦250,000 cash gift, plus guaranteed employment in the federal civil service. The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission have been instructed to begin processing their recruitment without delay .
Support for Physically Challenged Honorees
President Tinubu also extended the gesture to 10 former corps members who sustained disabilities while serving. They will receive the same job offer, with assurances that “the government will never forget their sacrifice.” The President reaffirmed that their contributions are not overlooked .
Postgraduate Scholarships Up to PhD
In addition to employment and cash awards, all awardees—including those living with disabilities—will be awarded scholarships to pursue postgraduate studies (up to Master’s or PhD level) at any Nigerian university of their choice .

The President was represented at the event by Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, who conveyed Tinubu’s appreciation for the honorees’ dedication to national service .
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, praised the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment through education, technology, and job creation initiatives, and welcomed recent adjustments in NYSC allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 in support of living standards .
