The National Defence College (NDC) has expanded its collaboration with the United States Military Group–Kenya (USMILGP-K) in a move aimed at strengthening Professional Military Education (PME) and enhancing strategic-level training for senior officers.
A USMILGP-K delegation led by Lieutenant Colonel Trish Basile, along with Lieutenant Colonel Hans Hobbs and IMET Program Manager Daisy Kone, met with NDC Commandant Lieutenant General Juma Mwinyikai in Nairobi.
The discussions focused on widening areas of cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges, joint academic initiatives, and the co-development of advanced PME programs aligned with evolving regional and global security challenges.
Lt Gen Mwinyikai reiterated the college’s commitment to maintaining rigorous standards and preparing officers to address emerging threats. The visiting U.S. officials expressed interest in deepening existing collaborations and supporting institutional improvements to boost the quality and relevance of military education.
In a statement, the Kenya Defence Forces said the meeting reaffirmed the strong defence partnership between Kenya and the United States and underscored both countries’ shared dedication to strengthening professional excellence and contributing to regional and global security.
