The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has expelled six students for gross examination misconduct after they were found to have rewritten an examination at a lecturer’s private residence.
The university announced the disciplinary action on Monday, August 31, 2026.
According to reports, the students were involved in an examination malpractice scheme in which an examination was allegedly rewritten at the lecturer’s residence.
The university also approved the withdrawal of nine other students over poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters.
The institution has also commenced disciplinary proceedings concerning the lecturer allegedly connected to the examination malpractice incident.
The development comes amid continuing concerns over examination malpractice in Nigerian tertiary institutions and the measures being adopted by universities to protect the integrity of their assessment processes.
The expulsion sends a strong warning to students and academic staff that examination-related misconduct can attract severe disciplinary consequences.
