The Lagos State Government has announced the commencement of e-registration for the 2026 Universal Basic Education (UBE) by Continuous Assessment Scores and Placement Test.
According to a circular issued on Wednesday by the Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Orunsolu Adebayo, registration will run from January 26 to April 30, 2026.
The registrar explained that the exercise is open only to Primary Six pupils in public and approved private primary schools across the state.
While registration is free for pupils in public primary schools, candidates from approved private schools are required to pay a fee of ₦5,000 through the Lagos State Central Billing System.
Adebayo stressed that possession of the newly issued School Code is mandatory for all participating schools, urging school authorities to strictly comply with the registration timeline and properly inform parents and guardians.
He added that public primary schools are to download the Offline Data Capturing Application from the Lagos State Examinations Board website for the registration process. Approved private schools, on the other hand, are to complete payment and registration through the Board’s designated online portal.
The registrar assured parents, schools and other stakeholders that adequate measures have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free registration exercise.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible pupil is captured in the process, noting that no child should be denied the opportunity to participate due to avoidable lapses.
