A student of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Shakiru Samuel, has been awarded a scholarship worth N300,000 by the Gani Adams Foundation.
The scholarship award was presented on Sunday, 11 May 2025, at Whitestone Event Centre, Oregun, Lagos, during the 55th birthday celebration of Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland.
According to a statement from the Public Relations and Advertising Unit of the Department of Mass Communication, LASUSTECH, the award is part of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting academic excellence among undergraduates across South-West Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Iba Gani Adams highlighted that the scholarship scheme is an annual initiative through which his foundation recognises and empowers exceptional students from five tertiary institutions in the region.
Samuel, while expressing gratitude, said, “I am truly honoured by this award. My utmost appreciation goes to Almighty God, the Gani Adams Foundation, and the celebrant for this great recognition. I encourage fellow students to stay committed to their academic pursuits. I also extend congratulations to other awardees.”
Students from five institutions benefited from the 2025 edition of the scholarship scheme. These include the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, Ekiti State University, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, and LASUSTECH.
