A newly appointed member of the Lagos State University (LASU) Governing Council, Mr. Bode Makanjuola, has promised to serve the institution with integrity and dedication.
Makanjuola, who was recently named to the council by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the university’s growth.
Governor Sanwo-Olu had in October approved an 11-member council for LASU, effective October 31, 2025. The approval was conveyed in a letter signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro.
The council is chaired by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Babatunde Ogala, with members including Oluseyi Badmus, Makanjuola, Mojisola Taiwo, Shaffudeen Amuwo, Rafiu Ebiti, Kofo Etti, Farouk Gumel, Adenike Akanbi, Biodun Hundeyin, and Remi Desalu.
Reacting to his appointment, Makanjuola, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Caverton Offshore Support Group, described the role as “a privilege to serve an institution vital to the future of students and the larger community.”
“I remain committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, servant leadership, and impactful governance,” he said.
He thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to support LASU’s drive for academic excellence, innovation, and inclusive growth.
Makanjuola also commended the university’s leadership and staff for their dedication, noting that education remains the foundation of societal development.
A proud alumnus of Adesoye College, Offa, and King’s College, Taunton, UK, Makanjuola holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leicester and a Master’s in Shipping Trade and Finance from City University Business School, UK.
