The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has praised the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Professor Adekunle Olanrewaju Adeogun, for promoting dialogue, inclusiveness, and mutual respect on campus.
NANS said the leadership style of the Acting VC has helped restore calm and rebuild trust between students and the university management.
The commendation was made by NANS National Public Relations Officer, Adeyemi Samson Ajasa, during a visit to the institution’s management, where he led a delegation to congratulate Professor Adeogun on his appointment.
Ajasa said the visit was also aimed at engaging in constructive discussions on student welfare and institutional harmony.
In a statement he personally signed, the NANS spokesperson commended the Acting Vice-Chancellor for his openness and student-centred approach to leadership.
He noted that the management’s willingness to listen and address student concerns through dialogue has strengthened confidence in the university’s administrative processes.
“Professor Adeogun’s leadership has helped ease tensions on campus, creating an environment where academic activities can thrive without disruption,” Ajasa said.
He added that NANS remains committed to peaceful engagement with university authorities nationwide and described the TASUED management under Professor Adeogun as a positive example that other institutions should emulate.
“The National Association of Nigerian Students hereby passes a vote of confidence on the Acting Vice-Chancellor. NANS reaffirms its commitment to work with your administration and partner with the university management to promote peace, harmony and sustainable development within the institution,” Ajasa said.
In response, Professor Adeogun thanked the delegation for the visit and commended NANS for the support. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to student welfare and open communication.
He assured the students that the university would continue to implement policies aimed at improving learning conditions, maintaining peace on campus, and strengthening relations between students and management.
Professor Adeogun described the engagement as timely and constructive, saying students are critical stakeholders in the university system. He added that sustainable peace and academic progress can only be achieved through mutual understanding and collaboration.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance and an open-door policy, saying grievances are best resolved through dialogue and transparent communication.
