The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has formally acknowledged the successful disbursement of institutional loans to 5,825 students of Joseph Sarwuan, Tarka University, Makurdi, in Benue State, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to higher education funding.
The acknowledgement follows the loan disbursement exercise conducted on November 17, 2025, which provided much-needed financial support to eligible students to cover tuition and other approved academic expenses. The initiative aligns with NELFUND’s mandate to ease the financial burden on students and promote equitable access to tertiary education across Nigeria.
NELFUND commended the university’s management for its cooperation and efficient coordination throughout the disbursement process, noting that strong institutional collaboration is critical to the success of the national student loan programme. The Fund reaffirmed its commitment to working with higher education institutions to ensure timely, transparent, and sustainable financing solutions that empower Nigerian students to complete their studies successfully.
