The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has acknowledged the successful disbursement of institutional loans to 7,749 students of Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadua, Bauchi State, on November 11. The disbursement forms part of the Federal Government’s ongoing effort to expand access to tertiary education and ease the financial burden on students across public institutions.
According to NELFUND, the intervention underscores its commitment to ensuring that no eligible Nigerian student is denied education due to financial constraints. The Fund noted that the loans, which cover approved institutional charges, were paid directly to the university in line with established guidelines to promote transparency and accountability.
NELFUND commended the management of Sa’adu Zungur University for its cooperation and timely provision of verified student data, which facilitated a seamless disbursement process. The Fund also urged beneficiary students to utilise the support responsibly and remain focused on their academic pursuits.

The agency reaffirmed its readiness to continue working with tertiary institutions nationwide to scale up the student loan programme. It encouraged students who are yet to benefit to follow due process through the official NELFUND portal, as the programme remains a critical pillar of the government’s education financing reform agenda.
