Oyo, Nigeria — Emmanuel Alayande University of Education has received a major financial boost following the disbursement of ₦2,100,920,500 under the Federal Government’s student loan scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The funds, released through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), are targeted at supporting 6,697 students of the institution. The disbursement, which was effected on March 17, 2026, covers tuition and other statutory charges.
According to details of the intervention, the funding is expected to significantly ease the financial burden on beneficiaries, ensuring that thousands of students can continue their academic pursuits without disruption.
The development aligns with ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to expand access to higher education through its student loan initiative, widely promoted under the Renewed Hope agenda.
Education stakeholders have described the disbursement as a timely intervention, noting that it will not only improve retention rates but also enhance students’ focus on academic performance without the pressures of financial constraints.
With this latest release, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education joins other institutions across the country benefiting from the NELFUND scheme, reinforcing the government’s commitment to making tertiary education more accessible and affordable.
