The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has moved to a skeletal remote work arrangement as its office undergoes fumigation and sanitation, assuring stakeholders that services will continue without disruption.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, by the Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.
According to the statement, the fumigation exercise, which will run through the end of the year, is part of efforts to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for staff and visitors.
Only essential personnel have been approved for on-site duties during the period, with particular consideration given to pregnant women and women of child-bearing age due to possible health risks associated with fumigation.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, said staff safety remains a top priority.
“While the fumigation exercise is necessary, we have taken deliberate steps to ensure that no employee is exposed to avoidable health risks,” he said.
Sawyerr added that NELFUND’s digital infrastructure will support uninterrupted operations, including loan processing, stakeholder engagement, and service delivery.
The Fund noted that the temporary arrangement reflects responsible governance and effective use of technology to sustain public service delivery.
NELFUND appreciated the understanding of stakeholders and reaffirmed its commitment to transparent, efficient, and student-focused education financing nationwide.
