The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has paid an official visit to the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, as part of the Fund’s ongoing nationwide sensitisation and stakeholder engagement campaign.
The visit was aimed at deepening awareness of the Federal Government’s student loan scheme, strengthening institutional collaboration, and reinforcing the administration’s commitment to expanding access to higher education through financial inclusion.
The MD/CE was accompanied by a delegation that included the General Counsel/Board Secretary, Mrs. Funmi Alagbada; Assistant Director, Facility and Fleet, Mr. Tolutayo Olajolo; Senior Manager, Strategic Communications, Mr. Fola Ogunniya; Technical Assistant to the MD/CE, Mr. Nasir Ayitogo; Personal Assistant to the MD/CE, Mr. Yomi Gbadamosi; Legal Officer, Mrs. Ife Akoniyon; and Personal Assistant to the General Counsel, Ms. Tinuke Bello.
During an interactive session with the institution’s management, the MD/CE expressed appreciation to the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, and the management of the Institute for their warm reception and support. He reaffirmed that NELFUND has been adequately capitalised to deliver on its mandate, stressing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that no eligible Nigerian student should be denied access to tertiary education due to financial constraints.
In his remarks, the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, thanked the President for initiating and implementing the student loan scheme, describing it as a transformative intervention in the education sector. He noted the growing number of student applications already received and awaiting disbursement, and encouraged eligible students to take advantage of the loan facility.
The engagement, NELFUND said, reflects its continued commitment to promoting educational equity, expanding access to higher education, and supporting national development through inclusive financing.
