Students from Education District II have once again proven their excellence as they excelled at the Eko Schools Arts and Craft Competition organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
In the junior category, Adedoyin Israel Tobi from Government Junior Model College, Owutu, Ikorodu emerged in first place, while Kolawole Jubril from Ikorodu Junior Grammar School secured second position. In the senior category, Mariam Omolewa from Oriwu Senior Model College came third, impressing judges with her creativity and artistic ingenuity.
The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layewo Sanni, hosted the students, their teachers, and principals at the District Headquarters to celebrate their remarkable achievements. He commended the young artists for their dedication and talent, describing their success as a testament to hard work and determination.
“This event has showcased your creativity and the efforts you have invested in your craft. I pray that God continues to crown your efforts with greater success. This is just the beginning — you have not yet reached your peak. Keep pushing and continue to soar higher,” Mr. Sanni said.
He also expressed appreciation to the teachers and school administrators for their unwavering support and mentorship, reaffirming the District’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting excellence among students.
“You are highly appreciated for your dedication. God has rewarded your hard work through the success of these students. Continue to guide them in the arts and crafts because it is a vital field that fosters human development and contributes to the economic growth of our society,” he added.
