The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course will commence on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, across all 37 NYSC orientation camps in the country.
According to a statement released by the scheme’s management, camp registration for prospective corps members will begin on Wednesday, January 21, and run until midnight on Friday, January 23, 2026. All registered corps members are expected to complete their documentation within the stipulated period.
The swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One corps members is scheduled to hold on Friday, January 23, 2026, marking the formal commencement of national service. The orientation course will then run for three weeks, culminating in a closing ceremony on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has wished all prospective corps members safe travels to their various states of deployment. He also advised them to avoid night journeys while travelling, emphasizing the importance of personal safety.
The NYSC management reiterated its commitment to the welfare and security of corps members and urged all participants to adhere strictly to guidelines throughout the orientation exercise.
