The Dean Students Affairs of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr. Tope Abiola has called on the union aspirants in the forthcoming election to leverage social media for election campaigns.
This call was made in the early hours of today, 30 June, 2025 while addressing students in New Lecture (NLH1).
He emphasized that union aspirants contesting for political positions either in SUG, Faculty or Departmental level should refrain from defacing school and government properties.
“Warn them, tell them to avoid pasting posters on school buildings, writing or painting on school buildings and painting on the government roads. Tell them to make use of social media for their political campaigns,” Dr. Abiola noted.
Meanwhile, he added that any erring aspirant will face the consequences of the offense.
He also made appeal to all students especially final year students who are yet to resume to resume on time in order to catch up with lectures and other academic activities.
