Celebrating Global Talent, One Story at a Time
At Prodigy Finance, access to quality education is a mission, not a privilege. Since 2007, the organisation has supported over 45,000 international master’s students from more than 150 countries—enabling them to study at the world’s leading universities through a unique, no-collateral, no-cosigner loan model. In 2025, they took that mission a step further by awarding $39,000 in scholarships to eight exceptional students from Africa, India, and Latin America—individuals recognised as tomorrow’s changemakers.

Programme: Master of Laws (LLM), Maurer School of Law – Indiana University
Scholarship Category: African Student Scholarship
Abiodun Otaiku, a passionate advocate for social justice and legal reform, has been named one of the eight winners of the highly competitive Prodigy Finance Scholarship, which will support her pursuit of a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in the United States.
A graduate of the University of Lagos with a Bachelor of Laws degree, Abiodun has spent the last few years immersed in human rights litigation and advocacy across Nigeria. Her unwavering commitment to building equitable legal systems—particularly for underrepresented communities—has earned her a reputation as a rising star in public interest law.
Thanks to the Prodigy Finance Scholarship, she will join a top-ranked U.S. law school, where she plans to deepen her expertise in international human rights, comparative constitutional law, and legal policy. Her ambition is to return to Nigeria equipped with advanced legal knowledge to influence judicial reforms and shape inclusive policies that prioritise accountability, civil liberties, and access to justice.
She describes the scholarship as “a timely investment in my dream of becoming a globally informed legal advocate capable of challenging systemic injustice and promoting the rule of law in Africa.”
Abiodun’s selection speaks volumes—not only about her academic and professional achievements—but also her dedication to reshaping justice systems across Africa through inclusive, rights-based reforms.
