The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Parish, Abuja, has awarded scholarships to 20 Nigerian students as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at promoting education and youth empowerment.
The scheme, launched three years ago, reflects the broader CSR vision of RCCG under the leadership of its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye. According to the church, the initiative has grown into a beacon of hope for aspiring youths, easing the financial burden of education and fostering national development.
A statement released on Monday noted that nearly 100 students benefitted from the scheme last year, while the current phase is supporting about 20 students.
“In line with the Christian Social Responsibility mandate of the RCCG, the City of David Parish, pastored by Agbolade Okenla, has sustained remarkable progress in its scholarship drive,” the statement read.
The church stressed that the initiative is fuelled by Pastor Okenla’s vision of investing in young people as a way of securing Nigeria’s future. His commitment, it added, has ensured the scholarship remains a priority for the parish.
By supporting students with financial aid, RCCG City of David Abuja said it is not only fulfilling its CSR mandate but also making a direct impact on lives, opening opportunities for beneficiaries to pursue their academic dreams and contribute to society.
“The scholarship programme is a testament to the church’s belief in education as a powerful tool for transformation and aligns with RCCG’s wider vision of service, compassion, and national development,” the statement added.
