Rochester is now home to a Guinness World Record holder who proves that age is no barrier to fitness.
On his 84th birthday, Fred Woolman was officially recognized as the “Oldest Active Personal Trainer – Male” by a Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Woolman has been a fitness instructor for nearly 20 years, following a 35-year career in computer programming and management. He currently trains clients at 125 Live, which hosted a celebration in his honor.
Reflecting on the milestone, Woolman said:
“When I started doing fitness almost 20 years ago, I never imagined something like this happening. It’s just a nice thing to happen—the recognition when you’re older. I appreciate it.”
His advice to others: “Health is wealth.” He encourages people of all ages to embrace fitness, emphasizing that it’s never too late to start.
