The general mindset is ‘anything to get ahead’ and it doesn’t matter how. As long as you get ahead. And this can be seen in all spheres of Nigerian life – politics, business, exam malpractice, religion etc. It’s a real shame.
Sadly, in the case of exam malpractices, parents are often the ones who aid it. These are the same people who will complain about governments and say Nigeria is bad.
I’ve often said one thing. A major challenge that we have is not that Nigerians don’t know what the problem with the country is; but it’s that they don’t see themselves as part of that problem. And so they continue with their warped behaviour, while expecting the country to miraculously progress and improve. As the Americans will say, go figure! Somehow they fail to connect the very obvious dots. So convenient.
