Ruthwiphdale School, a distinguished institution blending Nigerian and British curricula, has once again demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by donating food items, clothing, footwear, and other essentials to the Compassionate Orphanage.
The school’s proprietress, Adenike Odetola, highlighted their dedication to uplifting the underprivileged, noting that their charity efforts have been ongoing for over a decade.
“We initiated this program to empower children who lack the means to achieve their potential. Compassionate Orphanage, our adopted charity, houses many bright orphans who, with the right support, can go on to accomplish incredible things,” Odetola stated.
As part of its biannual visits to the orphanage, the school presented donations gathered through contributions from parents, students, and staff.
These donations included food items, clothing, and cash support, emphasizing a culture of generosity among its community.
Odetola explained that students contribute funds to the charity weekly, while parents provide additional support during festive seasons. “Despite economic challenges, our parents remain steadfast in giving, and we are grateful for their unwavering generosity,” she added.
In a bid to inspire philanthropic values in its students, the school also participated in Jumper Day on December 11, raising funds to further support the orphanage. The funds will be used to purchase additional items for a presentation scheduled for Valentine’s Day.
Speaking on the broader impact of such initiatives, Odetola urged other schools and corporate organizations to take similar actions. “Investing in vulnerable children today is an investment in the future. Among them are potential leaders, professionals, and innovators,” she said.
This gesture underscores Ruthwiphdale School’s mission to instill values of kindness and social responsibility in its learners while making a meaningful impact in its community.
