Four years ago, a simple message about being a blessing to one’s community sparked a vision that has since transformed the lives of thousands of teachers and students across Nigeria. On Sunday, February 12, 2023, while listening to Pastor Poju Oyemade, a seed was planted in the mind of Olasunkanmi Opeifa. Shortly after, a challenge from Hakeem Subair inspired him to raise “2000 me” — teachers who are icons in their profession.
The result was The Phenomenon, a landmark initiative aimed at celebrating, empowering, and equipping teachers to make sustainable impacts in education. Over the past four years, the program has held three editions, directly impacting more than 2,000 teachers and indirectly benefiting thousands of students.
Announcing the next phase, Opeifa confirmed that registration for the fourth edition is officially open, with the event set to hold at Aduvie Event Centre on June 27, 2026. Participants can secure their seats either onsite or online via
Reflecting on the journey, Opeifa said, “I stop to think every day: if teaching is truly noble, then it can be sustainable. The Phenomenon is our answer to that — creating a platform where educators are celebrated, equipped, and empowered to continue shaping the next generation.”
This year’s edition promises to build on past successes, with innovative programs and networking opportunities designed to inspire and transform the teaching community across the nation.
