Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has had his Twitch account suspended for four months, just days after hosting a record-breaking livestream with Afrobeats star Davido.
The livestream, held on December 17, 2025, attracted massive online attention and propelled Carter Efe to become Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, amassing over 405,000 followers on the platform.
Announcing the development on Monday, the comedian disclosed that Twitch imposed the suspension over alleged violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. However, the platform did not specify the exact nature of the infractions.
The suspension comes shortly after Carter Efe overtook other Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics, and achieved one of the most-watched livestreams on Twitch, largely due to Davido’s appearance.
Following the announcement, fans flooded his social media pages with messages of support, describing him as a “joy giver” and calling on Twitch to reconsider its decision.
Speculation has circulated online suggesting the ban may have resulted from mass reporting related to comments or behaviour during the livestream. However, claims of additional bans on other social media platforms were dismissed as untrue.
Many fans have expressed disappointment over the suspension, particularly as it coincides with the festive season, and are hopeful for a swift resolution.
