The Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos (UNILAG), has honoured Mr. Fadipe Sakiru Olanrewaju as its Overall Best Graduating Student for the 2024/2025 academic session at the institution’s 56th Convocation Ceremonies.
Fadipe, who graduated with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.87 in Accounting, emerged top among his peers, a feat that reflects years of discipline, resilience and academic focus.
Born on December 2, 1987, and a native of Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State, Fadipe began his academic journey at UNILAG as a Direct Entry student in the 2021/2022 session, joining the Department of Management Sciences at the 300 level.
He completed his programme in the 2024/2025 session, leaving a remarkable academic record behind.
His success at UNILAG builds on a strong educational foundation. He previously graduated with Distinction in both his National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
In 2020, he further distinguished himself professionally by qualifying as an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) after receiving a scholarship from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Beyond the classroom, Fadipe balances academics with professional responsibility. He currently serves as Finance Coordinator at Tenax Marine Limited, a marine logistics company based in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, where he is known for his sound financial judgment and adherence to regulatory standards.
Colleagues and lecturers describe him as diligent, disciplined and supportive, with a strong drive to positively impact his environment.
The Director of the Distance Learning Institute, Professor Risikat Dauda, alongside members of staff, congratulated Fadipe on the achievement, describing him as a shining example of what commitment to learning and excellence can produce.
The Institute wished him continued success as he advances in his academic and professional journey.
