The University of Lagos has announced updated eligibility requirements for contractors seeking to bid for jobs within the institution, with all existing 2025 documentation set to expire on April 1, 2026.
In a notice released by the university’s Efficiency Unit on March 23, 2026, departments and units were advised to ensure that only contractors who meet the revised criteria are considered for projects going forward.
According to the directive, contractors operating as limited liability companies must provide evidence of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, alongside valid Company Income Tax Clearance Certificates covering the last three years (2023–2025) and expiring December 31, 2026.
They are also required to present up-to-date compliance certificates from key statutory bodies, including the Industrial Training Fund, Pension Commission, and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, all valid through the end of 2026. In addition, contractors must show proof of registration on the National Database of Federal Contractors, Consultants, and Service Providers.
For business enterprises, the university stipulated the submission of a Certificate of Business Name issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission, as well as a valid Personal Income Tax certificate for the current year (2026). Applicants are also required to provide Form CAC B/N/1 to verify consistency between the business name and the proprietor’s tax records.
The university emphasised that the updated requirements are part of efforts to ensure transparency, regulatory compliance, and efficiency in its procurement processes.
The notice further urged all prospective contractors to update their documentation promptly, as expired credentials will disqualify bidders from participating in upcoming contracts within the institution.
