The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially released the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) merit cut-off marks for admission into various programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement published on the university’s website, the management advised prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public to take note of the approved merit scores for each faculty and department.
According to the breakdown, the cut-off marks vary across programmes and states under the university’s catchment areas.
For instance, in the College of Medicine, Medicine and Surgery recorded one of the highest merit cut-off marks with 85.025, followed closely by Nursing with 79.8 and Medical Laboratory Science with 74.375.
In the Faculty of Engineering, Computer Engineering topped the list with 82.875, while Electrical/Electronics and Mechanical Engineering had merit scores of 79.5 and 78.525 respectively.
The Faculty of Law maintained its competitive standing with a merit cut-off mark of 78.225, whereas in the Faculty of Science, Computer Science led with 83.425, followed by Data Science at 76.925.
Similarly, the Faculty of Social Sciences saw Mass Communication, Public Administration, and Economics posting merit cut-off marks of 74.074, 74.2, and 73.475 respectively.
The Faculty of Arts recorded 72.55 as the highest mark in Linguistics, while English and Creative Arts had 68.175 and 69.5 respectively.
Successful candidates have been urged to continuously check their admission status on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) CAPS portal as the admission process progresses.
