The Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has appointed Professor Adekunle Adeogun as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
Adeogun, who is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, will take over from the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wole Banjo, whose five-year tenure ends on November 4, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Oladapo Oke, the council said Adeogun’s appointment will take effect from November 4, pending the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Professor Banjo, on behalf of the university community, congratulated Adeogun and prayed for God’s guidance in his new role.
The statement described Adeogun as a Professor of Public Health Education with over 20 years of teaching and research experience.
He began his academic career at the institution (then Ogun State College of Education) in 1999 as a Lecturer III and rose to the rank of Professor in 2016. He has published over 50 scholarly papers.
Adeogun holds an NCE from the former Ogun State College of Education (1990), a B.Ed. from the University of Port Harcourt (1995), an M.Ed. from Olabisi Onabanjo University (2003), and a Ph.D. from the University of Ibadan (2008).
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Adisa Bello, also congratulated Adeogun, expressing confidence in his leadership and wishing him success in his new assignment.
