The Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Akintunde Sawyerr, has expressed profound sorrow over a fatal accident involving a Borno State University bus and a trailer on December 12, 2024. The collision tragically claimed the lives of two students and left several others injured.
In a heartfelt statement released in Abuja on Thursday, Sawyerr extended his condolences to the Borno State government, the grieving families, and the university community.
He emphasized NELFUND’s commitment to supporting the affected individuals and helping them recover from this devastating incident.
“We at The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) are deeply saddened by the tragic accident on December 12, 2024, involving a Borno State University bus and a trailer, which resulted in the loss of two students’ lives and injuries to several others,” the statement read.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, the injured students, and the entire university community during this difficult time. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Borno State Government and the university administration.
