The Government of Japan, through its Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), is now accepting applications for the 2025 METI Internship Program. This fully funded opportunity is open to qualified undergraduate and graduate students from all countries.
About the Internship
This 6-week internship provides a hands-on experience with Japanese companies and aims to support the internationalization of these firms while equipping participants with valuable skills and work experience. The program is held twice a year (summer and winter) and expects to host up to 200 interns.

Eligibility Criteria To be eligible, applicants must:
Be between 18 to 40 years old as of August 1, 2025
Be a current student or graduate of a university (enrollment or graduation certificate required)
Submit a recommendation letter from a university faculty member
Be proficient in English or Japanese (JLPT N3 or higher)
Be available to fully participate in the internship schedule
Hold relevant language proficiency certificates (IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR, etc.)
