The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦281,917,950.00 to support students of Northwest University, Kano, for the 2024/2025 academic session. The disbursement was made on August 28, 2025, as part of the fund’s mandate to improve access to higher education through tuition support.
According to NELFUND, the funding will cover registration fees for 4,675 students, ensuring their seamless enrollment for the new session.
The initiative is expected to ease financial burdens on students and their families while promoting continuity in academic pursuits.
The student loan scheme is one of the Federal Government’s flagship interventions aimed at expanding opportunities for young Nigerians. By providing tuition support across institutions, the programme seeks to remove financial barriers that often hinder students from completing their studies.
With this latest disbursement, NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Nigerian students and strengthening the country’s human capital base.
The agency also encouraged beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity by focusing on their academic goals and contributing meaningfully to national development.
