In a significant step toward advancing teacher professional development in Pakistan, the Elementary & Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 1 Million Teachers (1MT), in collaboration with Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA).
The partnership aims to strengthen teacher capacity across the province through research-driven, future-ready professional development programmes designed to equip educators with the skills needed for modern classrooms. By combining policy leadership, educational research, and large-scale teacher training expertise, the collaboration seeks to create sustainable impact within the public education system.
Under the MoU, ESEF, 1MT, and ITA will work together on initiatives focused on teacher empowerment, continuous professional learning, and evidence-based teaching practices. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to improving classroom outcomes by investing directly in teachers as the backbone of educational transformation.
Speaking on the collaboration, representatives of 1 Million Teachers described the agreement as a proud milestone for teacher development in Pakistan, noting that empowered teachers play a critical role in shaping stronger classrooms and brighter futures for learners.
The initiative aligns with national and provincial education priorities, reinforcing the role of strategic partnerships in improving education quality and ensuring that teachers are prepared to meet the demands of 21st-century learning environments.
With this MoU, the partners reaffirm their collective vision: when teachers are supported, education systems thrive.
