Federal Government Sponsors Nigerian Youths for World-Class Hospitality Training at Dewdrop Institute, Enugu

Enugu, Nigeria — The Federal Ministry of Education has launched a bold initiative to empower Nigerian youths with globally recognized skills in hospitality and care services. This week, the first set of young male and female beneficiaries has started their registration process at Dewdrop Institute, Enugu, for the 6-month intensive hands on training programs under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) scheme.
The program, fully sponsored by the Federal Government, is designed to tackle youth unemployment by equipping participants with practical, job-ready skills in culinary arts, front office operations, housekeeping, and other services for the hospitality industry.
Speaking at the registration exercise, Mrs. Agatha Nnaji, Executive Director of Dewdrop Institute, described the initiative as a milestone for Nigeria’s service economy.
“This is more than just training,” Mrs. Nnaji said. “It’s about giving young Nigerians the confidence, skills, right mindset and international certification to compete anywhere in the world. We are proud to partner with the Federal Government to make this laudable vision a success.”
Dewdrop Institute is a social enterprise and accredited training center with a strong track record of producing highly skilled workforce . Through its partnership with City & Guilds UK, trainees will earn certifications that are recognized globally which would open doors to employment and professional career growth opportunities within Nigeria and abroad.

For many of the trainees, this opportunity represents hope for a brighter future. One participant, visibly excited during registration, shared:

“I’ve always dreamed of working in hospitality, but I never thought I’d have access to world-class training like this. This program is a dream come true.”

The Federal Government’s sponsorship underscores its commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and economic diversification. By investing in vocational education, the Ministry of Education is not only addressing unemployment but also raising the standards of Nigeria’s hospitality and care industries.
The registration exercise continues through October 3, 2025, at Dewdrop Institute’s Enugu campus.
