The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr Akintunde Sawyerr, has been honoured as a Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 Economic Social Education Summit, organised by the Ijebu Heritage Association.
The summit, held on Saturday, 31 January 2026, provided a robust platform for dialogue and collaboration, drawing a distinguished audience of traditional rulers, policymakers, development experts and community leaders from across Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The event was graced by the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, alongside members of the State Executive Council and other top government officials.
Beyond the ceremonial recognition, the summit featured engaging and interactive sessions, during which Mr Sawyerr actively engaged stakeholders on the critical role of NELFUND in expanding access to education through sustainable financing and awareness creation.
Speaking at the forum, the NELFUND MD/CE reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to working closely with government institutions, traditional authorities and civil society organisations to deepen outreach, promote inclusivity and ensure that education financing opportunities reach underserved communities.
He assured participants of NELFUND’s readiness to support initiatives that strengthen educational development and empower communities through strategic partnerships.
