The race toward admission has officially begun for thousands of candidates hoping to secure a entry into the University of Lagos.
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that online registration for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise will commence on Monday, June 15 and close on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, for admission into all undergraduate programmes.
According to the university, only candidates who selected UNILAG as their first choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and scored 200 and above are eligible to participate in the screening exercise.
The institution also stated that applicants must possess five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at one sitting.
UNILAG further stressed that candidates must upload their O’Level results on both the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and the university’s application portal on or before Friday, August 14, 2026, to be considered for admission.
The university warned that candidates who will not be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are not eligible for admission and should not apply.
It also noted that participation in the Post-UTME online aptitude test is compulsory, stating that candidates who fail to take part in the exercise will not be considered for admission.
As part of the registration requirements, applicants are expected to use personal and active email addresses, which will serve as the official channel for communication throughout the admission process.
UNILAG added that former students whose admissions were withdrawn due to poor academic performance or absence status may reapply, provided they seek admission into a different course from the one previously studied.
However, the university maintained that students who were expelled from the institution are not eligible for fresh admission.
Candidates are required to pay a screening fee of N2,000 and an application fee of N3,500 during the registration process.
To complete registration, eligible applicants are expected to visit the university’s application portal, select “Start New Application,” choose “Undergraduate” as the application type, and log in using their UTME application number as the username and their surname in lowercase as the password.
After generating and printing the payment advice, candidates may either make payment through any commercial bank or complete the process online before returning to the portal to fill out the screening form and print their Post-UTME Examination Pass.
The university disclosed that mock examinations will hold from Monday, June 22 to Sunday, July 26, 2026, while the Post-UTME online aptitude test is scheduled for Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31, 2026.
For enquiries and complaints, candidates have been directed to contact the university through the designated email address, postutme@unilag.edu.ng, or via the phone numbers 09053006772 and 08141656802.
The institution also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on drug abuse, warning that admission offered to any candidate who tests positive for drug use may be withdrawn before or after registration.
Candidates were advised to adhere strictly to all guidelines provided by the university.
