A Nigerian scholar, Prof. Ogechi Adeola, has earned international recognition after emerging as Rwanda’s leading researcher in Business and Management, further strengthening Nigeria’s growing reputation in global academia.
Adeola, who serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) at the University of Kigali, was recognised by the Rwandan institution as the country’s number one researcher in Business and Management and one of Rwanda’s top scientists in the AD Scientific Index 2026.
The University of Kigali announced the recognition in a LinkedIn post, describing the achievement as another milestone in Adeola’s distinguished academic career.
According to the university, the honour complements her earlier recognition as one of the Stanford-Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists (2025), reflecting her sustained contributions to research excellence and scholarly impact.
The institution said Adeola’s accomplishments demonstrate the transformative role of research, innovation and academic leadership in advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges.
“Professor Adeola’s achievements exemplify the transformative role of research, innovation and academic leadership in advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges.
“Her work continues to enhance the global visibility of the University of Kigali while contributing meaningfully to scholarship within Rwanda, across Africa and beyond.
“Congratulations to Professor Ogechi Adeola on this outstanding achievement and for proudly representing the University of Kigali on both the national and global academic stage,” the university stated.
Beyond her leadership role at the University of Kigali, Adeola is widely recognised as a marketing educator, researcher and author whose work continues to shape business scholarship across Africa and beyond.
Her latest recognition adds to the growing list of Nigerian academics making significant contributions to research and higher education on the global stage.
