Tech Policy Press has opened applications for its 2027 fellowship programme, offering a $10,000 stipend to selected fellows to pursue independent reporting and analysis on technology, democracy and society.
The year-long, part-time fellowship is designed for mid-career journalists, researchers and public policy professionals with expertise in technology policy or related issues.
According to the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), which published the fellowship call on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the programme will support a new cohort of fellows to explore urgent questions at the intersection of technology and democracy.
The organisers are particularly interested in projects that focus on communities and regions that are often excluded from global technology policy conversations.
Applicants are expected to have a clear area of focus and demonstrate how their proposed work could contribute to informing the public and decision-makers.
Selected fellows will receive editorial guidance, participate in monthly sessions and join an international cohort for regular feedback and exchange of ideas.
The fellowship will be conducted remotely, with fellows working as independent contractors.
