As preparations for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) begin, candidates need to be careful about the websites and online platforms they rely on for examination information.
Several websites present themselves as sources of JAMB information, but not all of them are official. Relying on unofficial platforms can expose candidates to outdated, incomplete or inaccurate information about the examination.
To help candidates prepare with reliable materials, this article provides a step-by-step guide on how to access the official JAMB syllabus, recommended reading materials and other useful resources through the Board’s Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS).
How to Access JAMB’s Official Syllabus for UTME 2027

Follow these steps to find the syllabus for your UTME subjects.
Step 1: Visit the official JAMB website
Open your browser and visit the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s official website:
Always confirm that you are visiting the official website before proceeding.
Step 2: Click on the menu icon
Once the website opens, look for the three horizontal lines at the top-right corner of the page. Click on the icon to open the website menu.
Step 3: Select Quick Links
From the menu that appears, locate and click on Quick Links to access the available JAMB services.
Step 4: Click on the syllabus system
Under Quick Links, look for the option labelled Syllabus System (IBASS). Click on it to access JAMB’s Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System.
Step 5: Open E-Syllabus
On the IBASS platform, select E-Syllabus from the available options.
The page provides a list of UTME subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government and other subjects.
Step 6: Select your subject and access the syllabus
Find the subject you intend to write and click on the relevant option to view its syllabus.
The platform allows candidates to explore the topics and objectives for their chosen subjects. You can also access the available PDF syllabus and download it for offline reading and future reference.
The JAMB syllabus serves as a guide to your examination preparation. Rather than reading blindly or spending time studying without a clear direction, use the syllabus to identify the topics you are expected to cover in each subject.
It also outlines the learning objectives candidates are expected to understand, helping you organise your reading, identify areas that require more attention and monitor your progress as the examination approaches.
Remember: Always confirm that the syllabus and other examination materials you use are relevant to the 2027 UTME. Check JAMB’s official website for updates, and use the recommended reading materials where applicable.
As you prepare for UTME 2027, make the official syllabus an important part of your study plan. Consistent preparation, effective time management and the right study materials can help you approach the examination with greater confidence.
We wish you success in your preparations!
